Basic camera trapping workshop

Recommended Posts

The Western Section of The Wildlife Society will hold a workshop on basic camera trapping for wildlife biologists July 6 to 9 at Lassen Volcanic National Park in California.

This workshop will examine the pros and cons of commercially available camera traps, their use in the field and case studies demonstrating their value. The goal of this workshop is to provide a comprehensive introduction to camera trapping equipment and methodology so that participants acquire the basic knowledge to plan, outfit and implement their own surveys. The workshop is intended for biologists who have little to no experience in using remote cameras. Each participant will have hands-on experience setting up a variety of commercially available camera traps.

Early bird registration lasts until June 6. The workshop costs:

$450 for Section members
$495 for non-members
$225 for students or new professionals

To register, please go to: www.wildlifeprofessional.org/western/cam2018_reg.php. A flyer with more information is also available here.

Contact Ivan Parr at mailto:workshops@tws-west.org with any questions.
