Melanie Colón Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The rare Charitable Research Reserve is a 900+ acre property in Waterloo Region,Ontario at the confluence of the Grand and the Speed Rivers. The goal of rare is toprotect this environmentally sensitive landscape intact, in perpetuity, and topromote the use of the property for education and research. The property includes abroad range of habitats including riparian zones, upland and lowland deciduous forest(old-growth and second-growth), savanna, cliffs, coldwater streams, deciduous swamps,marshes, hedgerows, agricultural fields and old fields.The Ages Foundation Fellowship scholarship program is valued at $4,000 and is open toall Canadian and International graduate students who will conduct field research onrare property between May 2016 and April 2017. The monetary award will help ensuresuccessful candidates have the necessary resources to conduct and report on theirresearch at rare. It will also allow the student to give an oral presentation at aconference in their discipline.Applications Details:Applications can be submitted until 5:00 pm on Wednesday, April 20th, 2016Students will be required to provide a final report to rare one year after receivingthe scholarship.The successful applicant will be notified by May 13th, 2016.
