Melanie Colón Posted December 2, 2014 Share Posted December 2, 2014 I’m excited to announce that registration is open for Unearthing Citizen Science, a free webinar hosted by the National Academy of Sciences this Friday December 5 at 12 pm EST. The webinar will explore the role and potential of citizen science in advancing the earth sciences, from monitoring unconventional hydrocarbon development to predicting, mitigating, and increasing public awareness of natural hazards. Speaking at the webinar will be Muki Haklay, Professor of Geographic Information Science at University College London and director of the UCL Extreme Citizen Science group; David Applegate, Associate Director for Natural Hazards at US Geological Survey and Susan Brantley, Professor of Geosciences at Pennsylvania State University. The webinar will conclude with a Q&A session with the speakers.
