Melanie Colón Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Earthwatch Institute is pleased to announce the posting of RFPs for research projects starting in 2016. Earthwatch Institute is an international non-profit organization that engages people worldwide in scientific field research and education to promote the understanding and action necessary for a sustainable environment. For over 40 years, Earthwatch has contributed directly to rigorous scientific research promoting the advancement of science-based knowledge and leading to effective solutions and meaningful change in the world. General organizational information can be found at www.earthwatch.orghttp://www.earthwatch.org/>. We are currently seeking proposals from field-based researchers to engage members of the public (recruited by Earthwatch) in their research addressing critical environmental issues in several target geographic and thematic areas, including (but not limited to): * North America * Central America * The Nordic Region * as well as projects focusing on African and/or Asian elephant conservation initiatives. In all these areas, we are prioritizing research which helps us understand nature's response to accelerating global change. Projects that focus on how this change impacts biodiversity and ecosystems, ocean health, freshwater systems, as well as targeted research on the effects of climate change itself are particularly desirable.
