Melanie Colón Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Songbird Banding Workshop Intermountain Bird Observatory Boise, Idaho Job Category: Training Website: http://ibo.boisestate.edu/what-we-do/training/ Salary: $300 Start Date: 08/30/2014 Description: The Intermountain Bird Observatory is offering an introductory songbird banding workshop in Boise, Idaho from August 30 – September 1, 2014. This workshop will focus on songbird ID, banding, sexing, ageing, and safe handling techniques. We will also learn standardized monitoring techniques, data collection, how to set-up and take-down mist nests, and an introduction on how to safely extract birds from mist nets. The Intermountain Bird Observatory is a 501 c (3) non-profit research unit of Boise State University. Proceeds from this workshop will be used as a donation to contribute towards our mission of conserving migratory landbirds through cooperative research, education, and public involvement. Register early - enrollment is limited to 10 people. The workshop fee is $300. Registrations and payment must be received by July 20, 2014.
