The Wild Bird Research Group is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Program Coordinator. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating fundraising efforts and acquiring grants to support our research initiatives focused on wild bird conservation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wildlife conservation, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in fundraising and grant acquisition. This position involves scientific and technical writing, payment management, data management, and event planning. The coordinator will collaborate with different teams to ensure the seamless execution of programs, maintain accurate records, and contribute to the overall success of the organization. Title: Digital Media Coordinator Compensation: $18-22/hr, depending on experience Duration: 6 months with the opportunity to renew Application Deadline: [3 weeks from posting] Wild Bird Research Group is offering a remote, part-time position for a Digital Media Coordinator. The Digital Media Coordinator will be tasked with utilizing multiple platforms and creating written media (fact sheets, emails, social media posts, newsletter articles, press releases, posters, etc.) to communicate information about birds, bird-related conservation topics, and developments in WBRG’s research projects to our followers and to the general public. The individual will play an integral role in creating the published content that will be the organization's public face. The Digital Media Coordinator will work closely with our organization’s leadership to produce content that helps achieve our organization’s goals for 2024. Ideal candidates will: have the ability to write engaging content that is scientifically accurate but understandable by the general public; have a strong interest in birds and a grasp of bird biology and conservation; have a strong work ethic and be capable of working remotely and independently; and bring creativity, enthusiasm, thoughtfulness, thoroughness, and originality to their work. Because information is more effectively conveyed in combination with visually appealing graphics, candidates that also have experience with graphic design and graphic design software (Wordpress, Publisher, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, etc.) will be given priority. This job is approximately 4-6 hours per week and spans 6 months with the opportunity to renew based on performance and mutual satisfaction. Below is a list of responsibilities that can vary from week to week. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with our organization’s voice and goals. Create engaging, original content for various social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), including posts, stories, and videos. Ensure scientific accuracy of content through fact-checking and communication with research team members Write and distribute newsletters via Mailchimp, manage subscriber lists, and analyze performance metrics to optimize engagement.
