     Job duration: March 20 till May 15, 2023  Compensation: $1600 to $1900 per month DOE, housing included.

    Duties: Identify species, count and record waterbirds utilizing the Mackinac Straits.  Requires the use of binoculars and spotting scope.  Must legibly keep hourly records of the numbers of individuals of each species, and movements of waterbirds on provided forms. Six hours per day starting 15 minutes before sunrise.  Must write and post a blog report of observations 1 time per week on MSRW website.  Required to write seasonal summary report at end of season.

    Qualifications: Must be proficient at identifying waterbirds of the Great Lakes region, in flight and on the water.  Must be experienced using binoculars and spotting scope, and recording data.  Must have own binoculars, spotting scope a plus.  Be able to withstand long hours in cold working conditions; having cold weather gear.  Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
