    Job duration: March 20 till May 10, 2024  Compensation: $1600 to $1900 per month (DOE), housing included.

    Duties: Set up and maintain mist nets to capture Owls, setting nets daily at dusk with regular net checks till dawn, except inclement weather.  Keep legible records for all birds banded (date, time, measurements, age and sex).  Must write blog report on MSRW website, minimum 1 time per week; write end of season summary report on activities and Owls captured.  Owl species include, mostly NSWO, possible LEOW, BDOW, and GHOW.

    Qualifications: Bander must have experience using mist nets to capture owls, and be skilled at extracting Owls.  Experience record keeping, handling and banding raptors, particularly Owls.  Experience identifying owls, taking measurements and using Pyle guide to age and sex owls.  Must be in good physical condition and able to withstand cold working conditions.  Must have valid drivers license and  reliable transportation.
