    This position is a collaboration between the National Wildlife Refuge Association and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bitter Lake NWR. Bitter Lake NWR is located near Roswell, NM, at the northern extent of the Chihuahuan desert and southeastern Great Plains. The individual selected for this position will work with the supervisory biologist to lead invasive species work to improve wildlife habitat for federally threatened and endangered fish and invertebrate species. Additionally, the technician will participate in monitoring efforts for rare plants and aquatic wildlife. Additional duties will include data entry and analysis, report writing, waterbird surveys, and assisting the supervisory biologist with day-to-day refuge operations.
     

    This position is funded for 22 weeks and with potential be extended to June 2025 based on performance and availability of funding. Temporary housing is available with this position and a $1,000 sign on bonus will be provided to assist with moving expenses.
