    Compensation: $31.00-$34.88 per hour. Point Blue provides a comprehensive benefit package including employer paid medical and dental for staff and 75% for dependents.     Job Summary: 

    We are seeking a Facilities Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating facility maintenance needs and requests for Point Blue Conservation Science’s Novato Baylands Nursery, Point Blue Headquarters in Petaluma, and multiple remote sites. The Facilities Coordinator will manage all safety related training, oversee the Point Blue fleet of vehicles, and ensure building security.

    Essential Functions Include, but are not limited to:

    Novato Baylands Facility Management: 50%

    • Manage timely responses for repairs and maintenance requests for Novato Baylands Nursery, including planning and scheduling contractors to conduct repairs. Develop and implement an overall preventative maintenance schedule for Nursery.
    • Provide project management for American with Disabilities (ADA) site upgrades including soliciting and hiring vendors, ensuring the work is completed timely and accurately and within predetermined budgets.
    • Plan and schedule electrical, mechanical, and HVAC repairs; identify when to engage and schedule an outside contractor to conduct repairs.
    • Coordinate vendors, ensuring that contractors comply with safety standards while working on site.
    • Plan and schedule nursery facilities and repairs including irrigation, DC power, battery backup, controllers, etc.
    • Complete/schedule minor repair of gates and fencing around properties.
    • Complete minor repairs for facilities and vehicle maintenance. 

    General Facility Management:  30%

    • Manage timely responses for repairs and maintenance requests for all Point Blue locations, including planning and scheduling outside contractors to conduct repairs. Develop and implement an overall preventative maintenance schedule for facilities.
    • Plan and schedule electrical, mechanical, HVAC and other issues as needed; identify when to engage and schedule an outside contractor to conduct repairs.
    • Hire, oversee and maintain relationships with contractors and subcontractors brought in for ongoing maintenance, to perform repairs and make tenant improvements. Ensure they comply with safety standards while working on site.
    • Coordinate and manage outside vendors including housekeeping staff, groundskeeping staff, security, shredding, document retention, and other contractors performing work on Point Blue facilities.
    • Familiar with or has the ability to learn how to tow small vehicles such as golf carts, ATVs, UTVs, etc.

    Fleet Management 5%

    • Manage timely responses for repairs and preventative maintenance for all Point Blue-owned vehicles, equipment, boats, trailers, etc. 
    • Tow small vehicles such as golf carts, ATVs, UTVs, etc. 
    • Coordinate registration and insurance needs related to Point Blue vehicles and other liability related issues.

    Safety: 5%

    • Orient new staff to Point Blue’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program.
    • Support and organize field safety managers to ensure field staff receive the required safety training and that all records are maintained and up to date.
    • Organize annual CPR/First Aid Trainings and encourage staff to participate.
    • Address unsafe conditions or OSHA violations as they are brought to light.

    Other Duties as Assigned: 10%

    • Serve as Point Blue liaison to the headquarters building association and Martin Farms homeowners association (Stallcup Intern House).
    • Perform special projects and research as assigned.

    Qualifications: 

    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
    • Experience managing facility repairs, maintenance, and remodeling projects.
    • Knowledge of facility management practices and procedures.
    • Knowledge of building maintenance.
    • Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.
    • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, email, Internet. 
    • Good mechanical skills, including ability to set up and problem solve audiovisual equipment.
    • Proficiency in using general tools and power tools.
    • Due to the nature of the work, strong organization and prioritization skills are necessary, as well as the ability to develop and present complex issues in a manner appropriate to the audience and the subject matter.
    • Familiar with or has the ability to learn how to tow small vehicles such as golf carts, ATVs, UTVs, etc.

    Certifications and/or Licenses

    This position requires the use of a personal vehicle. Valid California driver’s license, favorable driving history, and proof of auto insurance is required.  

    Preferred Education and Experience.

    • This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or related field; and 3-5 years of experience in facilities management or related field.
    • Work Environment & Physical Requirements.
    • This position is based 50% of the time at Novato Baylands Nursery with the remaining time spent at multiple locations. 
    • This position routinely travels between West Marin, East Marin, and North Petaluma. 
    • This position requires the use of a personal vehicle to travel between multiple locations.
    • This position operates in a hybrid environment of a professional office environment and in remote field locations with uneven terrain, limited vehicle access, and limited cell phone receptions.
    • Requires ability to work outdoors under variable weather. Requires mobility over various terrains. 
    • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets.
    • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, walk, twist, and turn.
    • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
    • May require the ability to operate an all-terrain vehicle, motor vehicle, boat, or aircraft and to travel to different sites and locations.

    Position Type, Expected Hours of Work, and Travel.

    • This is a full-time position located in our Novato Baylands Nursery. This position will drive to multiple locations as needed throughout the day/week.
    • Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm 
    • Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
