Chris Merkord Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 For all ecologists and organismal biologists who want to adopt gene expression analysis in their work: in June 12-28, 2013, we will be running back-to-back workshops on tag-based RNA-seq and on quantitative PCR. We endeavor to introduce people with minimal or even no prior molecular and bioinformatic experience to the analysis of global gene expression using a low-cost version of RNA-seq ($50/sample, Meyer et al, Mol Ecol 2011, 17:3599-3616), and right after that we will teach quantitative PCR, the gold standard for validating RNA-seq results. Please see the details (why we are doing it, what exactly do we offer, how much it costs, and how to apply) here:http://www.bio.utexas.edu/research/matz_lab/matzlab/AGEA%20workshop.html The deadline for applications is April 15, 2013.
