American Bird Conservancy Posted July 17, 2012 Share Posted July 17, 2012 Approximately 24,527 acres of coastal habitat in Washington, Oregon, and California has been designated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) as Critical Habitat for the Pacific Coast population of the Western Snowy Plover (PCWSP), a shorebird protected by the federal Endangered Species Act (ESA).
