Cara J Posted August 21, 2015 Share Posted August 21, 2015 Wildlife managers sometimes have to rappel down cliffs while monitoring bald eagle recovery, as seen in this video from the Arizona Game and Fish Department. This year has been the most productive year for bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) recovery in Arizona since the species was listed in 1978. The raptors were taken off the federal endangered species list in 2007, but the birds are still protected by state and federal laws.
