The book summarizes the results of a study of migration of passerine birds, especially long-distance night migrants. It is shown that migratory stopover and flight are inextricably linked to each other. The key quantitative parameters of migration stopovers, namely their duration, speed zhironakopleniya and general energy efficiency determine the possible range of migratory flight. Quantitative energy use can not be studied in isolation from bird behavior at stopover sites, especially the selection and use of habitat and spatial behavior. We show that energy consumption for migratory flight of birds adapted to migration is much lower than has been assumed until now. Given the criticism of the theory of optimal migration, we put forward a qualitative model of behavior of migratory passerine birds. The book is intended for ornithologists, zoologists, ecologists, conservation workers, students and post-graduate students of biological...
