However, there is rarely a task without educational value. Interns are expected to take on any assigned task and learn from it. If the educational value is unknown, please ask. Interns are expected to be punctual, and to notify supervisors well in advance if a shift must be missed. Interns are expected to be self-motivated and to keep busy when supervisors have not specifically designated a task.

Interns will be expected to take part in a variety of tasks, many of which do not involve direct contact with wildlife. Tasks such as:

    ·     Caring for feeder rodents

    ·     Caring for feeder invertebrates

    ·     Record keeping

    Time Commitment

This provides a well-rounded experience of what goes on at RMWA. We will consider school related, out of state requests and special circumstances for a shorter amount of time on a case-by-case basis.

We strive to teach based on intern goals, but also to provide a well-rounded experience. Our internships are intended to provide experience and on-the-job training so that you leave us with a good foundation and experience to take to your future careers.
