Point count surveyor needed to conduct surveys for golden-cheeked warblers across the Hill Country of central Texas. Qualified candidates will have prior bird survey experience, and must have an independent and flexible attitude. Candidates must also be physically fit because the terrain is highly rugged and you will be walking several hours a day. This project runs from ~March 28-May 11. Duties include surveying at preselected points, minimal vegetation/habitat assessments, and data entry. Frequent travel is expected (expect new housing ~2/week). Surveys will be on private and public land. Housing is provided. Central Texas is a renowned birding destination and the Hill Country in spring is spectacular! Candidates should be prepared to use their own vehicle (you will be reimbursed for gas mileage related to the rpoject) and provide their own high qaulity binoculars.

Compensation: $4000 stipend for the season, gas mileage reimburesement, provided housing.

Please send resume, cover letter, and contact information for 3 references by March 8 to Jennifer Reidy at jennifer.reidy AT gmail.com.
