    WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CONTRACT PERSON FROM 4/15/24 -7/15/24 WHO WILL HAVE PROVIDED HOUSING BY CORNELL UNIVERSITY IN SANTA CLARITA, CALIFORNIA. THIS PROJECT WILL BE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. THE PERSON IN THIS POSITION WILL PLACE AUTONOMOUS RECORDING UNITS IN TREES AND RETRIEVE THEM ON A PRECISE SCHEDULE NAVIGATING TO WAY POINTS WITH A HANDHELD GPS DEVICE RIDING IN A 4WD VEHICLE OVER RUGGED ROADS MAKING INDEPENDENT DECISIONS IN THE FIELD REGARDING SAFETY AND SCIENTIFIC PROTOCOLS AND ASSISTING WITH DATA MANAGEMENT BY COPYING AUDIO FILES ONTO MULTIPLE BACKUP LOCATIONS, DIGITIZING DATA FORMS AND MAINTAINING EQUIPMENT. MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE, HAVE A BACKGROUND CHECK AND BE COVID VACCINATED. MUST HAVE A BACHELORS IN BIOLOGY, ECOLOGY, OR RELATED FIELD OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE READING TOPOGRAPHICAL MAPS AND NAVIGATING WITH A MAP AND COMPASS AND HANDHELD GPS, PASSION FOR BIODIVERSITY. ABILITY TO WORK IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AT THE FIELD SITE LOCATION. $20 AN HOUR.
