    These seasonal positions will monitor piping plovers, oystercatchers, and terns in Sussex County, DE. Responsibilities include completing beach surveys, monitoring nests and broods, assisting in trapping and color banding piping plovers; protecting habitat and nests with fencing, signs, predator exclosures and by interacting with the public; coordinating volunteers to provide public outreach; and assisting with other wildlife projects. Daily work requires walking up to 5 miles in sand, carrying equipment, driving trucks, and using a spotting scope to distinguish colored leg bands and flags on distant shorebirds. Other duties include data entry, management, and reporting using GIS, Excel, and Access. Applicant will be required to work irregular hours, weekends, or holidays as necessary.

    $16.88/hr, 37.5 hours per week.
