    We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Birdability Internship Program, a unique and groundbreaking pilot initiative aimed at enhancing the accessibility and inclusivity of national parks for birding enthusiasts of all abilities. Birdability, in collaboration with Environment for the Americas, invites passionate individuals to join us in this meaningful internship that not only contributes to wildlife conservation and accessible recreation but also promotes the joys of birds and birding.

     

    Internship Activities

    The Birdability Internship Program focuses on developing activities specific to various accessibility challenges at park sites. Interns will examine challenges, pilot birding activities in parks, and make necessary changes based on the results. Additionally, interns will coordinate and host an accessibility-focused World Migratory Bird Day event at paired National Park Service (NPS) sites. As a culminating activity, they will create online resources to be shared with other parks interested in implementing similar accessibility opportunities.

     

    Time Frame

    Deadline to Apply: January 20, 2024

    Paid Internship Dates: February 2024 – June 2024 (20 weeks)
