Our dynamic, multidisciplinary, and fun research group is recruiting a couple of birdy field assistants for the 2024 season in the central and western Great Basin. The season runs from about 20 May through early to mid July (end date more flexible than start date). Primary requirements are existing ability to identify birds in the western United States by sound and sight, excellent common sense and a sense of humor, and solid backcountry camping and driving experience. We survey along riparian and dry canyons in mountain ranges throughout the Great Basin and regularly record well over 100 species of songbirds, raptors, and other bird species.
