The Grunst Lab  at Indiana State University is currently recruiting PhD or Masters students interested in joining the lab in Spring or Fall, 2024. I am particularly seeking students with a strong interest in integrative research in the areas of avian behavioral ecology, ecophysiology and global change biology. Skills in ornithology, avian fieldwork, and statistical analyses and modeling are valued.

Examples of potential projects include investigating climate change impacts on behavioral plasticity and bioenergetics in seabirds, exploring avian personality variation across urban gradients, and assessing the physiological, fitness, and life-history ramifications of urban selective pressures on birds. Please see my website (link above) for more details about research in the lab.

Financial support (~25-30K) per year will be provided through TA or RAships. Students will also be encouraged to apply for independent funding (e.g. through the NSF GRP program). If you are interested in joining the lab, please email your CV and an ~1 page cover letter describing how your strengths and motivations would complement the lab to: andrea.grunst@indstate.edu.
