If the migration of the birds, in the typical form that is familiar to us in the Northern Hemisphere, is not the result of the individual experience of a bird, nor the knowledge handed down to him by his predecessors. However, there no doubt that the safety and timeliness of seasonal migration can not be unrelated to the experience of previous generations. An experience that, in the absence of other forms of transmission, must necessarily be received by inheritance, through a genetic process: the behavior was somehow internalized and translated into a hereditary impulse, which the progeny of migratory birds can not escape.
