Tim Demers posted a topic in Workshops & Short CoursesRaptor Services Stevens Point, WI The first of its kind, this 5-day (2-6 October 2017) introductory level field course is designed to instruct students in a full-range of the latest field techniques used in the study of raptors. During the course you will receive “hands-on” learning experiences with raptor: trapping methods, handling, banding, measurements, blood sampling, broadcast call surveys, telemetry and more. The workshop is offered every June with an emphasis on learning breeding season field techniques and in October, with an emphasis on migration and winter research techniques. Participate directly in real research projects, allowing significant hands-on time with some of Wisconsin’s finest raptors. The small class size of 6-8 students, allows for individualized instruction time throughout the course. Cost is $525. Website: http://www.treesociety.org Job Description: Ecorana Environemental is offering a nabc bird banding workshop certification session in Belize this fall. The workshop will be offered at the Toucan Ridge Ecology and Education Society (T.R.E.E.S) in the Maya Mountains of Belize. The workshop will concentrate on North American passerines while also catching resident species. The workshop will be between November 6th-10th 2015 and certification is on November 12th-13th 2015. Beginners and experienced banders are both both welcome. Workshop only $770 US including food and lodging (certification is additional).
