New legislation recently passed in North Carolina (House Bill 2) has raised some significant concerns about fair and equitable treatment of all people. The Waterbird Society is committed to building a professional community that respects diversity and promotes inclusion. We are currently in a ‘wait and see’ mode for determining how best to respond to this situation. We have not cancelled our annual meeting in New Bern, North Carolina scheduled for 20-23 September. Please check our web site for updates as we obtain more information about the State of North Carolina’s response to House Bill 2, especially its Special Session on April 25th, Monday.

It looks like we have two different forums going on the same topic. Can we just stick with one of them and eliminate the other? Thanks. -Jeff
