The Waterbird Society will hold its 46th Annual Conference in Corpus Christi, Texas from October 31 – November 4th 2022. We hope you can join us! Watching birds is part of the fabric of Corpus Christi, a city that has been named the “birdiest city” in the USA for 10 years running. Corpus Christi is the northern gateway to the Laguna Madre, one of the few hypersaline lagoons in the world. Expansive seagrass beds and tidal-wind flats provide habitat for vast numbers of wintering and migratory shorebirds and waterfowl. The bays and marshes north of Corpus Christi are best known in birding circles as wintering habitat for the Endangered Whooping Crane, which typically begins to arrive during late October. The Local Committee and Scientific Program Committee is planning a robust meeting full of engaging plenaries and presentations, events for students and activities that promote diversity and inclusion, and exciting field trips. The 46th Annual Meeting will have a virtual component for those unable to attend the meeting in-person. If you are interested in organizing a symposium, workshop or special session during the meeting, please contact Ricardo Zambrano, Chair of the Scientific Program, by May 15, 2022. Abstract submission and Registration will open up May 15, 2022. For more details, see https://waterbirds.org/annual-meeting/
