  2. We recently organized a continent-wide research project on bird-window collisions on college campuses through the Ecological Research as Education Network (http://erenweb.org/). The research objective is to identify building structural features and land use variables that predict the magnitude of bird-window collisions. We designed the project to be completed as an independent study for undergraduates or as part of a small ecology, conservation, or ornithology class. Professors and students will use protocols to conduct surveys for bird carcasses and quantify building and landscape features on their campus. All collaborators are provided with detailed and standardized protocols that explain how to complete each facet of the project. In fall 2013, 13 collaborator sites in the U.S. and Mexico completed a pilot field season to test and refine project methods in preparation for the first official field season in fall 2014. We are currently seeking additional collaborators from the U.S., Canada, and Mexico to work with us this fall on this exciting project. Collaborators need not have a background in ornithology, but should possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail. You may read more about our objectives, protocols, results from the 2013 pilot season, and collaborator policies at our Bird-window Collisions Project website: https://sites.google.com/a/augustana.edu/eren-bird-window-collisions-project/home Please contact us if you are interested in participating: Steve Hager (stevehager@augustana.edu) and Brad Cosentino (cosentino@hws.edu). Sincerely, Steve Hager (Augustana College, IL) Brad Cosentino (Hobart and William Smith Colleges, NY)
