    The mission of the St. Petersburg Audubon Society is to advocate for ecosystems important to birds and other wildlife through education and conservation. 

    SPAS is designed to: A. Function as a Chapter member of both The National Audubon Society and Audubon Florida. B. Provide educational programs and activities that are science based, foster an understanding of the natural world and promote a conservation ethic. C. Teach citizens to identify local and migratory birds so they can be effective environmental advocates. D. Engage in communication and outreach with members and the public. E. The purposes and objectives of SPAS shall conform to the provisions set forth in the Internal Revenue Service Code Section 501(c) (3).
