    Thunder Cape Bird Observatory is commencing it's 30 year of operation. The station is located on the north shore of Lake Superior near Sleeping Giant Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada. Our remote site is primarily accessed by boat or a 12.5 km hike. We offer a comfortable cabin shared with up to 5 other Volunteers. Our 7 hour protocol consists of visual avian monitoring, the capture and banding of passerines, small hawks and owls. TCBO is seeking enthusiastic personnel with good identification of eastern North American species and/or experience with mist nets and banding. Food and accommodation is provided at no charge to those who are able to offer 3- 6 weeks effort. Shorter term candidates are charged a small daily fee. Training in safe bird handling is offered as time allows.
