The Hilliardton Marsh Research and Education Center is located in northeastern Ontario and our mission is to offer a unique environmental opportunity through the provision of a bird observatory for research and education. We serve school groups, the general public, birders, and researchers. We are looking for volunteers for our spring season from May 1st to June 7th.
As a research volunteer, your primary focus will be working in the mornings to assist our migration monitoring team while gaining experience in the banding lab. However, there are times you will find yourself in an education/outreach role. The Hilliardton Marsh Research and Education Center is a high volume high diversity station that promises an incredible opportunity to band boreal specialists. I addition to boreal specialists assistants will also help out with the banding of hummingbirds and American kestrels and various raptors such as red-tail and rough legged hawks.
HMREC is happy to provide this free accommodation to our long-term volunteers along with some living necessities.
Please direct resumes and references to Bruce Murphy via email birdboy369@gmail. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of a great team with an incredible diversity of boreal birds. Good luck!
For more information about our organization and the birds we band please check out our website www.thehilliardtonmarsh.com and our facebook , twitter and instagram platforms.
