Precision Wildlife Resources, LLC is a private consulting firm in Gillette, Wyoming providing natural resource services including wildlife monitoring, mitigation, and research; biological permitting; impact assessments; and conservation and habitat management planning.
We have an immediate opening for an energetic, diligent, and resourceful wildlife biologist to join our staff from late March through mid-July 2020. Duties will include daily/weekly travel to remote areas for a variety of wildlife surveys, including daybreak and nocturnal surveys, throughout the Great Plains and Rocky Mountain regions. Demonstrated, superb avian identification skills (visual and sound) and an operating knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS are absolutely required; familiarity with IMBCR protocols, vegetation sampling methods and identification, diverse wildlife survey experience, and strong writing skills are preferred. Fieldwork will often require long and/or irregular hours and some weekends in potentially adverse and fluctuating weather conditions. Compensation for 40- to 50-hour work weeks will be at $20-$25 per hour (plus overtime pay), depending on experience. Positions will remain open until filled and the processing of applications will begin immediately.
Successful applicants will also possess at least a B.S. in wildlife biology or a closely related field and will demonstrate an overall dedication to excellence, high integrity, strong problem-solving skills, a flexible ability to work both independently and with a team, and solid navigation skills using maps and GPS. Successfully passing drug tests, a clean driving record and safe operation of four-wheel drive trucks, and a valid driver’s license are mandatory.
