The Canadian Wildlife Service of Environment and Climate Change Canada, is looking to hire one person for a full-time casual position in Whitehorse Yukon from December 1st, 2019 to March 31st, 2020. The successful candidate will be required to 1) enter and transfer waterfowl survey data to a relational database, 2) produce maps and associated metadata for waterfowl survey data in ArcGIS 3) help to conduct statistical analyses and write reports based on historical survey data from the Yukon.
Be familiar with MS Excel, MS Access or other data management software
Be familiar with ArcGIS geographic information and mapping software
Previous experience in statistical analysis with R and scientific writing
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Compensation: The position is at the BI-02 level (~$31/hr) + Isolated Post Allowance. Relocation costs and travel to/from Whitehorse YT are the responsibility of the successful candidate. The successful candidate must obtain a Government of Canada security clearance prior to the start date (to be arranged upon hire). Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
