Job duration: March 20 till May 15, 2019
Duties: Identify, count, and record waterbirds utilizing the Mackinac Straits. Requires the use of binoculars and spotting scope. Must legibly keep hourly records of the numbers of individuals of each species, and movements of waterbirds on provided forms. Eight hours per day starting 15 minutes before sunrise. Must write and post daily blog on MSRW website. Required to write seasonal summary report.
Qualifications: Must be proficient at identifying waterbirds of the Great lakes region, in flight and on the water. Must be experienced using binoculars, spotting scope, and recording data. Must have own binoculars, spotting scope a plus. Must have reliable transportation. Must be able to withstand cold working conditions.
Compensation: $1300 to $1500 per month, housing provided.
