    Monitoring and management of at-risk beach nesting birds, including piping plover, American Oystercatcher, least tern, black skimmers at the Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge, New Jersey from ~ April 1 - August 2019. Tracking nesting birds from territorial behavior to nesting to fledgling of chicks. Resighting of banded birds. Working as part of a team of 5 technicians, including crew leader. Access to nesting sites is generally via boat. Monitoring 5 days a week, work conditions can include extreme weather, extensive walking in soft sand, and carting of heavy equipment.

    Undergraduate degree in wildlife ecology, biology, or conservation science or related work experience. Previous experience working with beach nesting birds (or similar species) is preferred. Having completed federal Motorboat Operator Certification Course (MOCC) is a big plus. Ability to use a scope to resight banded birds is a plus. Must possess smart phone (to use in field to collect data). Must possess driver's license. Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
