Description
The University of Montana Bird Ecology Lab (UMBEL) is hiring two experienced field technicians to conduct point count surveys to assess songbird community response to conifer woodland removal projects in high-elevation sagebrush habitats of southwestern Montana. The project is located near Dillon, Montana in some of the wildest and most scenic montane landscapes in the region, and is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large multi-partner sagebrush conservation effort. Duties include conducting point counts, habitat sampling, and data entry. Work entails travel by 4WD on rough two-track roads and off-trail hiking in mountainous terrain to access field sites.
