    Urgent need for (1) RCW Technician to start ASAP for seasonal position working on red-cockaded woodpecker population monitoring in central Florida (Kenansville) on the Three Lakes, Triple N Ranch, and Herky Huffman/Bull Creek Wildlife Management Areas. The job will include surveying cavity trees, identifying birds by reading color bands, nest searching, nest monitoring, assisting in nestling banding/capture of adult birds, and data entry. Position goes until June 30th 2023.

    Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include early mornings and occasional evenings, hiking in hot and humid conditions, and must be able to navigate rough roads with ATVs, UTVs, and 4-wheel drive trucks. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience reading color bands, nest monitoring, and navigating in the woods. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license. Pay rate: $15/hour.
