OWL BANDER NEEDED: to mist net Northern Saw-whet Owls during the upcoming fall migration (20 Sep.- 10 Nov. 2022) in Stevens Point, WI. Approximately 400-700 Saw-whet owls and 5-35 Long-eared Owls are caught each season at the Linwood Springs Research Station in central Wisconsin. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, and personal vehicle for transportation to the banding site. Applicants should also be ready to work from dusk to dawn seven nights per week. Responsibilities include monitoring mist nets, bird extraction, data collection and computer entry along with banding demonstrations to small public groups. Housing and some meals are provided with a $2000 stipend for the season.
