    Description: Seeking Research Technicians to assist with Northern Bobwhite trapping, radio-tracking, and nest monitoring of Northern Bobwhite, as well as other associated fieldwork, including point counts and operating acoustic recording devices, as part of larger experimental studies. Data entry, equipment maintenance, and other various duties will be required. Selected individuals will also gain numerous opportunities to interact directly with Kansas DWP and private landowners. Employees will be working with minimal supervision and must be comfortable working independently. Previous experience with radio-telemetry and point counts is desired. Experience with Microsoft Excel, databases and ArcGIS is desired. Applicants must be comfortable working alone after dark and in areas where venomous snakes could be present. Applicants should be able to lift up to 25 lbs for brief periods and may be required to work in inclement weather.

    Qualifications:

    1.      Must possess a degree in wildlife management or related field.

    2.      An interest in game bird management and ecology.

    3.      Individuals need a valid driver’s license and must have a good driving record.

    4.      A positive attitude and ability to be a team player.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1.      Experience pulling trailers

    2.      Experience with safe operation of 4WD vehicles

    3.      Previous gamebird work experience

    4.      Previous telemetry, field research, and computer experience
