Looking for (1) Nest searcher. Experience in finding nests of open cup nesting songbirds is necessary. Position requires good color vision, ability to identify eastern birds by sight and sound, the ability to hike and work alone in rugged terrain and variable weather conditions, and an interest in avian ecology. Ability to drive standard transmission vehicles is a plus! Duties will include: Nest searching and monitoring, point-counts, target banding warblers, re-sighting color banded warblers, assisting graduate students with projects, and data entry. Position also necessitates attention to detail, self-motivation, and a positive attitude for long days in the field with biting insects. Field work begins mid to late April and lasts until mid-July. A stipend of $1300-1500 per month, commensurate with experience, will be provided in addition to housing.
