Kittatinny Ridge Raptor Migration Counter

Raptor Migration Counters (4 positions).  

Hawk Mountain seeks four experienced raptor migration counters for fall 2023 (August 20- November 30) to assist in a full season daily count of migrating raptors at four established count sites along the Kittatinny Ridge, an Important Bird Area and Conservation Landscape. Sites span from Danielsville, PA to Carlisle, PA. Counters will work four or five-days per week for total of 40-45 hours/week with volunteers covering other days. Some education outreach required at some sites and data entry on hawkcount.org daily.  Experience with raptor identification in flight and eastern US bird identification required. Public speaking and education outreach experience preferred. Pay 15$ per hour.
