We are looking for two field assistants to help with a project focused on Swainson's thrushes in Pemberton, British Columbia. The position will involve capturing thrushes with song playback, banding and measuring the birds, obtaining blood samples, and performing genetic analyses while still in the field.
Timing ~Aug 12-Sept 6
Experience: Preferred applicants will have experience in one or more of these tasks listed above.
Compensation: Food and housing will be covered and will include a combination of Airbnbs, rustic cabins and camping. Depending on the applicants experience, an honorarium will also be provided.
Who are we: We are a research lab based at Texas A&M University. We have been using the hybrid zone between Swainson's thrushes to study speciation and migration in songbirds for close to 15 years. See delmorelab.com for more details.
