The Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve in Duluth, MN is well known for the fall bird migration. It’s one of the best places in North America to observe large numbers of birds of great diversity migrating each fall. The Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory (HRBO) is the non-profit organization that manages and conducts bird research and education at the nature reserve. The mission of HRBO is to protect birds of prey and other migratory birds in the western Lake Superior region through research, education, and stewardship.
Hawk Ridge Bird Observatory (HRBO) in Duluth, Minnesota is seeking one experienced Owl Bander to document and showcase the amazing fall owl migration at Hawk Ridge. Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve is a prime migratory site in the fall with seasonal owl banding totals ranging from 600-1500 birds. Owl species banded, include Northern Saw-whet, Long-eared, Barred and Great Horned. This is a seasonal full-time position September 15 – November 9, 2019.
