    Are you a college student or recent graduate looking to gain experience as a biologist at Sandy Hook this summer? Two Student Conservation Association biological intern positions are available. Additional information and application can be made through SCA:

    Working as part of a team at Gateway National Recreation Area, the interns will support the park’s natural resource programs within the Sandy Hook Unit, Highlands, NJ. Primary responsibilities include monitoring and management of beach nesting shorebirds (including the federally threatened piping plover (Charadrius melodus), visitor engagement to build shared stewardship, invasive species management, and data management.

    Allowance Rates (before taxes)

    Living Allowance: $250/week

    Commuting Allowance: $30/week

    Housing Allowance: $800/month
