The Latino Heritage Internship Program (LHIP), created by the National Park Service (NPS) and administered in partnership with Environment for the Americas (EFTA), is designed to provide internship opportunities to young adults in diverse professional fields in the National Park Service. The program aims to provide meaningful work experience to Latino students in the fields of resource management, interpretation, and outreach through internship opportunities in the NPS.
The Avian Population Monitoring Intern, through the Latino Heritage Internship Program (LHIP) will assist staff at Cuyahoga Valley National Park with a variety of avian monitoring projects including conducting point counts, operating a banding station, and analyzing Great Blue Heron data from an ongoing citizen science program. Start date: May 22, 2023, End date: August 4, 2023. Compensation: $640 a week paid every two weeks. Travel costs to the site and back home are covered by the program.
