    Job Description: Field technician needed from April 1st - June 15th to assist with radio telemetry, trapping, banding, nest searching, and morphometric data collection. Fieldwork will begin at dawn and will be concentrated in Champaign County, Illinois. Transportation to field sites will be provided.


    About the Project: The Common Grackle has experienced dramatic population decline statewide since 2005 (7% annually). This study is interested in estimating current reproductive success in agricultural landscapes and examining a possible relationship between Common Grackle decline and commercial neonicotinoid insecticide use.


    Desired Qualifications:

    • BS in wildlife or closely related field

    • Experience handling or working with birds

    • Detail-oriented and organized

    • Good physical health and positive attitude

    • Willingness to work in adverse conditions

    • Valid driver’s license
