Work on an ongoing long-term study of the evolutionary ecology of western and mountain bluebird populations. Must be comfortable working alone and be physically fit (capable of carrying a moderately heavy backpack during daily 5+ miles of mountain hiking). Expect to work long days, with early morning starts, six days a week. Prior experience working with birds not required, but prior field work experience is highly desirable. Self-motivation, enthusiasm for learning and strong work ethic a must. Position starts ~April 15th and continues through July, with a possibility of extending into August. Will reimburse travel to Montana (up to $500).  Must have reliable vehicle for short commute to field sites. Main site is only (~5km) from downtown Missoula and any required additional travel to outlying sites (typically) once or twice a week will be reimbursed for gas. Monthly living and food stipend of $1400/month will be provided. E-mail a cover letter, resume/CV, and the names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses of three references to Dr. Renee Duckworth, rad3@email.arizona.edu.
