We seek someone to serve as the Program Coordinator for the Hawai‘i Landscape-scale Mosquito Control Program.
This program is evaluating the potential for the Incompatible Insect Technique to be safely used to suppress mosquito populations at a landscape-scale in Hawai‘i. The program’s goal is to advance this technology to protect Hawai‘i’s native forest birds from deadly diseases transmitted by introduced mosquitoes; this approach could also potentially be applied to protect human health by stopping mosquito transmission of diseases such as dengue fever and Zika. A broad coalition of entities is working on this issue and the Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining communication among these groups/individuals and making sure the key steps are progressed. The Program Coordinator will report to the Hawai‘i Program Director at American Bird Conservancy and work primarily with the Steering Committee for Landscape-scale Mosquito Control.
Application deadline: February 15, 2019. However, applications will be accepted until position is filled.
This is a full time position with benefits. Less than full time will be considered for the right applicant.
