I am currently seeking a qualified M.Sc. student to commence a shorebird tracking project in summer 2021. This project is fully funded, and focuses on coastal movements of a variety of shorebird species. The work in associated with a collaborative NSERC-funded project that examines migratory movement of birds in New Brunswick relative to future wind farm locations. It will be done in collaboration with colleagues at Environment and Climate Change Canada. All field work is conducted in Atlantic Canada.
The ideal candidate with have a strong interest in basic and applied ecological research, strong quantitative skills, and experience working with wild birds. However, I am happy to consider candidates who may not yet have had the opportunity to work with birds in the field, but are interested in doing so.
If you are interested in this project, feel free to contact me at dhamilto@mta.ca for more information.
