The Parasites and Plastic Ecology Lab at Frostburg State University is accepting applicant inquiries to fill a Graduate Assistant position in the Department of Biology - frostburg.edu/academics/colleges-and-departments/department-of-biology/program-requirements.php. The successful applicant will enroll in our M.S. program in Applied Ecology & Conservation Biology with research and teaching expectations. This funded position will assess disease dynamics of seabird colonies as they relate to ectoparasite communities and the host microbiome. Compensation includes a teaching assistantship that provides a stipend and a tuition waiver and supplemental funds and paid travel for collaborative research opportunities. Interviews for promising candidates will occur at the end of July. Start date negotiable with preference for those able to begin 25 Aug 2022, but exceptions could be made for the right person.

Qualifications:
B.S. in Biology or related discipline by 08/01/2022.
Enthusiasm and motivation to perform independent and team research in a laboratory setting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to improve on these skills further.
