    Job Description:

    Graduate student (MS) research assistantship, with tuition waiver, beginning January 2024 for 6 semesters, 3 summer field seasons, to study grassland bird responses to cattle grazing in CRP-restored grasslands in eastern Colorado and eastern Kansas.  The student will perform transect surveys of adult birds by sight and sound, manage collection of nest data (nest locations and contents, with particular emphasis on cowbird parasitism and nest trampling by cattle), and supervise technicians.  Field season housing and transportation provided.    

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in biology / ecology or wildlife / natural resources management.  Preferred applicants will have experience with bird and nest surveys, program R, and be able to tolerate demanding schedules and field conditions.  Valid driver’s license and much field travel required.  To apply, email your cover letter and CV to Dr. William E.
