We are seeking applicants for a PhD or MS student to join our lab in August 2019. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop an independent project within the research interests of the lab. The lab focuses on animal communication and sensory ecology using birds (primarily galliformes and passerines) as model systems. Please review our lab website to learn more about our research: http://people.tamu.edu/~jyorzinski/.
Applicants should possess a strong understanding of basic principles of animal behavior, ecology, and evolution. They will ideally have prior research experience.
Potential candidates should contact Dr. Jessica Yorzinski by email (email@example.com) as soon as possible, including a brief statement of previous research experience and plans for future research, current GPA, CV, unofficial transcript, and GRE scores and percentiles. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue on a rolling basis. Successful applicants can apply through the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences (https://wfsc.tamu.edu) or the EEB program (https://eeb.tamu.edu). Applicants eligible for this diversity fellowship (http://ogaps.tamu.edu/Buttons/Funding-opportunities/Graduate-Diversity-Fellowships.aspx) are especially encouraged to apply.
